My teaching, research, work, and consultancy experiences have actively involved the lived realities of young people and marginalized communities across global settings.
These engagements have deepened my commitment to inclusive pedagogy and place-based advocacy, where I actively ensure that knowledge is co-created, and communities are meaningfully engaged as partners in learning and transformation.
Please find some brief insights below and more in-depth details in my Research Projects section of this website.
Since 2010, I have been involved in the Himalayan region of Nepal and across the South Asian diaspora, examining issues related to education; international labour migration; infrastructure and community development; and citizenship-related challenges.
These long-term engagements have allowed me to work alongside grassroots organizations, youth networks, and policy actors, in turn, bridging academic inquiry with lived realities and co-developing strategies for inclusive development and rights-based governance.
More details on three related research projects can be found here.
Following a local NGO expert for a community development project in Jumla, Nepal, 2,514 metres/8,248 feet above sea level.
Keigbeni, a village in Mustang in the Himalayas, is almost 3,000 metres/9,800 feet above sea level. Researching with young people about their first-time visits after a decade or more.
My work spans strategic planning for post-disaster recovery efforts; cybersecurity upgrades for NGOs; communication responsibilities; and policy advice for human rights initiatives.
I also have extensive experience providing consultative recommendations for more inclusive learning and labour spaces for marginalized community members, refugees, and migrants in Nepal, India, Guyana, Canada, the U.S., Qatar, and France.
My research and consultancy experiences also extend to child and youth-related education, labour and migration contexts in the U.K., Spain, Portugal, Austria, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, China, Japan, Hong Kong, Zambia, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Dubai, Kuwait and Australia, among others.
A Tibetan Dish: Aloo (potato) Phing Sha (noodles) with Tingmo (steamed dough) in India. One of my all time favorites meals, especially in the winter.
Nepali Momo (dumplings) in Qatar, a truly transnational cusine experience.
My academic excellence and professional journeys are rooted in a commitment to collaborative and ethical storytelling that creates or disseminates knowledge involving borders, disciplines, and the lived realities of those I work with.
